The Bible calls a spade—a spade. While we might be on the fence, the Bible holds no punches. Clear, straight-forward, and to the point, the Bible leaves no gray area in where our allegiance should lie.
Regardless of what we think, the Bible is clear that the devil’s actions are contrary to God’s. One we should surrender to, and other reject.
James 4:7-8 says this, “Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands you sinners, and purify your hearts you double-minded.”
When we submit and draw near to someone, we surrender ourselves to them. Google defines the word submit like this, to yield or give in to the authority, control, or greater strength of someone or something else.
On the other hand, resist is defined as withstanding, striving against, or opposing something—that’s how we should handle the devil. Resist is a verb. The devils pays close attention to our actions and determines if we are serious about God based on whether we resist him, or give in.
God is waiting for us to bow down before Him, fall at His feet, and surrender our lives to Him. When we get closer to God, He will come closer to us. He is the only one who can cleanse and purify our hearts.
I Surrender All…..
