· Sisters Seeking The Savior

Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” Mark 16:2-3

In my mind, my series on “Sisters Seeking The Savior” ended last week. But as I listened to Sunday’s Easter sermon, a thought came to my mind. The women who were the first to announce that Jesus had risen were traveling to anoint the body of a dead Jesus, but instead found a risen Savior.

If they were like me, they probably packed the spices and loaded the donkey the night before. Rising early, they were probably tired from the weekend before and still in shock about what had happened to Jesus.

On their way to accomplish a routine task of the embalming process, they wondered who would roll the stone away. To their surprise, that work had already been done. The stone had already been rolled away, and Jesus had already risen from the grave—just as He said He would.

Sisters Seeking The Savior

Those women are no different from us. Sometimes, it’s hard for us to see things from God’s perspective. Even when God has already declared a thing (or written it in the Bible) it’s still hard
for us to conceive.

Like the women, we prepare and plan to address situations, even though God said, “I've already taken care of it for you.”

God is no shorter than His word. He promised to take care of us. Life might not look as we think it should, but God's actions will ultimately bless us and bring Him glory.

Remember what God said….Believe Him.
