Day 1:

Righteousness

and Faith

September 20, 2022

Birds of a feather flock together...

While I don’t often search the internet for biblical definitions, I found a couple of interesting explanations for Righteousness and Faith.

Christianity.com defines righteousness as the quality of being right in the eyes of God. Righteous is based on God’s standard, not man’s.

The Wiki page from Hebrew Roots says, faith is the assurance that the things revealed and promised in the Word are true, even though unseen, and gives the believer a conviction that what he expects in faith, will come to pass.

Truth is, God’s standards are revealed to those who have faith. The Bible says that our faith is accounted for righteousness.

Romans 1:16-17 says this, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Believing that God is who He says He is, causes us to look to God in other aspects of our lives so that we might aspire, desire, and strive to live according to His principles.

It doesn’t mean we will be perfect, but our heart-felt intentions will be to please God and to walk in His ways even when we don't see, understand or agree with the plan. The 'just' is considered to be those who live rightly (based on God's standards) before God.

The just (those who live rightly by God's standards) shall live by Faith.

Righteousness and Faith are birds of the same feather. Seek God’s perspective, walk in His ways, and experience both.
