Seeds of Christmas Past:
My father used to say, "Preparation is key." When it comes to putting things in order, God is King!
When it came to saving a lost world, God thought of everything. To prepare for the coming of Christ, He sent John the Baptist to be reminder that the Messiah was on the way. John was the forerunner. He prepared the way for the first coming of Jesus Christ.
Luke 1:13 and 17
But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.... He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
- Elizabeth was old and barren
- The name John means “Jehovah is a gracious giver”
- Elizabeth (John’s mother) and Mary (Jesus’ mother) were cousins
God uses ordinary people to accomplish His plans and purpose. He's not done yet. He wants to use people like you and I to accomplish great and wonderful things.
Faith and obendience are the keys to walking in God's ways and waliking in our greatest potential. Be prepared to walk by faith. Be ready to do God's will. Jesus is coming back again.
