Seeds of Christmas Past:

As recorded in the New Testament, the lineage of Jesus Christ dates back to King David. God's testimony of David declared that he was "a man after My own heart, who will do My will."

Like us, David was not perfect, but his love, honor, and reverence for God was rewarded. Through David, God promised the establishment of a royal heir.

The Prophesy: 2 Samuel 7:12-13

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.  He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.  

The Prophecy Fulfilled: Luke 1:31-32

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David.

• David was a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22)
• Seed refers to lineage (children or heirs)
• Throne refers to authority and leadership

As we look to Jesus Christ and follow God's plan our hearts will be conditioned to walk in His ways.

Let's teach our children and grandchildren to know God and provide biblical examples to demonstrate our love for Him.
