On the outside, she may have looked the same. But her actions said something different—people change.
If we’re honest, most of us are guilty of judging a book by the cover too often. One look at another person, and we already know their story.
Luke 7:44-46 records this faithful comparison, "Then He (Jesus) turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil."
Simon didn’t see it, but this woman had changed—once a sinner, she became a saint. Her actions demonstrated reverence, submission, honor, respect, and adoration for Jesus Christ at the most personal level.
She didn’t care who was there, she didn’t care who saw—she expressed her gratitude to Jesus Christ with her most valuable possessions. Simon gave Christ a meal—she gave Christ her all.
What does your faith say about you? How do you express your gratitude to God? What personal possessions do you lavish upon the King of kings? How do you honor God with your existence?
Faith is as Faith Does…
