I See ME As A Woman of Godly Character…..

A quick search on the internet reveals more than 500 character traits organized by type: positive, negative, neutral, and unique. Who knew??

While AI and Google are fine sources to help me identify actions and emotions that convey elements of my character, what the Bible says is most important. And God has a lot to say about character.

Psalms chapter 15 asks two interesting questions: God, who gets invited to dinner at your place? How do we get on your guest list? “Walk straight, act right, tell the truth. Don’t hurt your friend, don’t blame your neighbor; despise the despicable. Keep your word even when it costs you, make an honest living, never take a bribe. You’ll never get blacklisted if you live like this.” (Message Bible Version)

Ask God a question and boy, does He answer. There's no doubt that God's response speaks to character. Short and sweet, good character puts me in right standing with God. From the Bible's perspective good character gets me an invitation to God's table.

Consistent, positive character traits ensure peaceful relations with God and man. When my actions, my motives, my attitude, my mindset, and my work ethic align with biblical principles my reputation (private and public) will honor God. Needless to say, the opposite is true when I'm not on God's guest list.

Character is important. As a Christian, my good reputation sheds light on a GREAT God. It doesn’t mean I'll always be perfect, but that I'm strivng to make God look good.

Good character glorifies God and gets me a seat at His table.

My Prayer: Lord, help me to evaluate my actions based on your standards. Help me to see my errors and embrace Holy Spirit conviction. Please forgive me. Strengthen me and teach me how to consistently demonstrate public and private behaviors that honor Your Holy and Righteous Name. Amen
