Great Faith

Increasing Faith

· Food For Thought,Faith

The Bible says, God has dealt to each a measure of faith. God intends that the measure we have doesn’t stay the same size—faith is intended to increase. Mustard seed-sized faith is expected to grow day by day.

Matthew 15:28 says, Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

I will admit, I wonder how her faith became so great. After all, she was not one of God’s chosen. How did she know to worship and reverence Jesus in such a way? How did she know that He was the Son of God? How did she know that God’s amazing power resided in Him and He was able to heal? How did she know?

I’m not sure if my questions will ever be answered, or how important those questions are. The fact of the matter is that she knew Jesus was the Son of the living God; she knew the importance of worship and reverence; she knew that Jesus had the power to heal her daughter and she approached Jesus based on what she knew.

The Bible declares that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. As we read God’s Word, His Word will become more a part of us. As we meditated upon scripture, God’s understanding will become more ingrained within us. As we study God’s Word we will learn how to apply biblical principlesexamples of yester-year to our lives today.

Increase Your Faith:

Time spent in the Word of God has the ability to shape our thought-process; align our thinking and strengthen our faith in God. Even when things don’t happen as we think they should, know that God is still who He says He is and our faith in Him will remain strong and become greater.
