How Can I Say Thanks?

November 25, 2020

Year after year, the day before Thanksgiving is always the busiest travel day. As Americans trek across the country to spend time with loved ones and friends there is always a sense of excitement in hopes of being in the arms of that special someone.

But this year is different. This year, there is a new dinner guest—the uninvited. For months this unwanted visitor has invaded our homes and our lives wreaking havoc, bringing devastation and death.

Week after week, this intruder has filled our hearts with fear and tormented our realities with pain. Too many of us to count cast blame on this stalker as the sole reason for one less seat at the Thanksgiving Day table.

So, how do I say thanks?

Ephesians 5 15-21 reminds us of this,

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.

Be Thankful.

Be Wise.

Be Safe.
