I Confess....

September 17, 2025

No one escapes sin—no one.

While I might try to defend myself against untrue accusations truth is, I am guilty of something—God knows that. Sometimes I forget that life is all about God and not all about me.

1st John 1:8-10 says this, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”

I confess….

I’m not perfect. I make mistakes. I sin. No matter how hard I try to look the part, I don’t always measure up to God’s standard. The faster I stop lying to myself and acknowledge the truth, the faster I can get on the road towards restoration and recovery.

Sin separates. Forgiveness reconnects.

God is a hater—He hates sin. And my sin separates me from a sinless God. While God hates sin, He also loves me—all of us—and He's waiting to reconnect.

Forgiveness requires that I look my sins dead in the face and denounce them, asking God for help. Forgiveness demands that I, (1) Admit It (2) Quit It, and (3) Forget It. When I admit it and quit it, God forgets it.

While I have a desire to please God and aim walk in His ways, today’s scripture reminds me to see "ME" as I am and keep it 100 with God. Without hesitation I confess my sin to God—tell Him the truth about what I’ve done. Setting all pride aside, I must see my part as “my part”, acknowledge my short-sidedness, ask God to exonerate me, make the necessary adjustments (with God's help), and move forward.

God's merciful ear will always be open to my earnest request for forgiveness. I confess. God forgives and forgets.

I See ME As Forgiven….
