My Body Craves

What I Feed It

· Food For Thought

Over the past month, I have decreased my consumption of sugar and carbs, and increase the amount of water I drink. After more than 30 days, I realized something—my body has begun to crave what I feed it.

By drinking more water, my body is thirsty for more water. By eating less sweet food, desserts have become less enticing to me. Eating more fruits and vegetables has caused me to want more apples and green beans.

This realization got me to thinking—I bet I can apply this to other areas of my life. The things I watch, read, listen to, and how I spend my time.

Psalm 34:8 says this, "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!"

This scripture isn’t talking about physical food—it’s a spiritual thing. When I consume the things of God, I’m surprised by how good life can be. My mindset, attitude, and behaviors have become more aligned with peace and prosperity—not necessarily the physical stuff, but the things only the spirit can bring.

I will concentrate more on the positive. I will surround myself with those who encourage me. I will limit my time surfing social media and watching mindless television. I will digest more uplifting and inspirational information. I will feed on the Word of God and taste the goodness of God’s blessings.

Because my body craves what I feed it.
