Never Alone

· Faith,Trust,Believe

Back in the day, I remember our church's Senior Choir singing a song entitled, Never Alone.

Recently, I pulled up the lyrics to find that the song starts out quite depressing. The verses reference storms filled with lightening, and thunder; temptations, sin, and entanglements; and battles, valleys, and affliction. But the chorus repeats, “He Promised Never to Leave Me. Never Alone.”

Everyone has friends when the going is good. But when the going gets rough, so-called friends become scarce. And when it gets real bad, even the good ones become questionable.

God promised never to leave us or for forsake us.

Deuteronomy 31:8 reminds us of this, “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Claim God’s Promise

The song I remember is personal. It provides a picture of tough times and more importantly, a reminder of God’s promise—never to leave me alone.

God didn't promise that things would always to good. He promised that he would love us, hear us, and always be there for us. In the darkest night, through the lowest valley, during the most dreadful storm—He promised never to leave us alone.

Shadow-like, our relationship with God is an out-pouring of His eternal love, presence, and comfort. He encourages us to keep the faith, move forward and onward, while promising that We Are Never Alone!

He Promised Never to Leave Me. Never to Leave Me Alone!
