Never Alone

· Food For Thought

Even in the midst of adversity, God is always near. You are never alone.

Psalm 4:7 reminds us of this, "Wisdom (knowledge of right and wrong based on God’s perspective) is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding (knowing how to proceed with the knowledge God gives)".

Possessing wisdom means knowing the right thing to do. One has understanding when she knows what steps to take in order to get the right thing done.

Yesterday, I received a call from a friend I hadn’t spoken to in a long time. She is facing adversity. I was able to share the post “Adversity is a teacher” along with a few other encouraging words.

The timing of this interaction was amazing. Remember, my shift in focus? I do. And yesterday, someone said, “these words on advesity were exactly what I needed to hear.”

This experience may seem trivial to you, but I saw God’s hand at work and my friend received a bit of peace in the midst of storm.

An unexpected call from a friend; a shift in focus that changes the topic of discussion; God positioning the right person with the right message in the right place at the right time sends another reminder that we are never alone.

God is always near working behind the scenes on our behalf. We might not recognize it right away, but the Holy Spirit is always present. He encourages us and strengthens us to walk according to His purpose.

Understand this: God uses people, situations, and circumstances to prove Himself strong. Trust Him. Follow Him.

Even in the face of adversity God speaks. When we are challenged by difficulty God is near to strengthen our hearts. When misfortune strikes God will guide us through the storm to the other side.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 says, “Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.”

Know that you are are never alone. The hand of God is always out-stretched towards those in need. Respond correctly when facing adversity. Turn to God first.

My friend was inspired to make a call and she received a message of encouragement. She was reminded of God's perspective, His peace, and His presence.
