Prayer...Not Panic

August 4, 2026

You think we’d be used to them by now, but most of us prefer to wish storms away. Truth is, storms are meant to be endured. The results might yield a change in landscape, a reminder for discipline, a strengthen prayer life, or all three.

Philippians 4:6-7 says this, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

While sometimes panic is our first storm-response instinct, the Bible encourages us to create a lifestyle that is centered on prayer... not panic; thankfunless... not discontentment; and openness... not obstinance.

Prayer doesn’t necessarily change circumstance, it changes conditions—the condition of our mind. Prayer helps us to focus on the “ONE” who is in control and capable to calm our conscious. Prayer creates an inner resolve that allows us to prepare for, plan for, and walk through any period of unrest as the darkness approaches, lingers, and gives way to a brighter day.

Storms come and storms go. Prepare for and manage storms with prayer. Allow prayer to become a staple for daily existence and go-to for handling storms you can see and those you cannot see.

Stay Ready…..Stay Prayed-up!
