"If we ever needed the Lord, we sure do need Him now, right now!" Those words from a back-in-the-day church song are ringing over and over in my head. Though several artists have sang the song, I don't know the writer's name. Today, the lyrics are quite fitting.
To say the least, the state of our country's current events causes many to be anxious and unsettled.
Truth is, we NEED the Lord!
We need His strength, His power, and His forgiveness. He is the ONLY one who can save and restore us as individuals and as a country.
It's time to go back to the old landmark. The forefathers of this country encouraged our citizens to trust God, so much so that they printed this reminder on our money....In God We Trust!
Consider this passage from Nehemiah 9:
“Stand up and bless the Lord your God Forever and ever! “Blessed be Your glorious name, Which is exalted above all blessing and praise! You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all.
United in a spirit of worship, the people confessed their sins and gave honor to God. Guided by the priests, the people were reminded to acknowledge, bless, and praise the Lord.
If there was ever a time to confess our sin and worship God, the time is now!
We need Him, in the morning;
We need Him, in the noon day;
We need Him, when the sun goes down!
As you consider the current state of our country remember to remain level headed, be prayerful, and stand up and bless the Lord, regardless.
