I love lemonade. But have you ever had a glass of lemonade that wasn’t quite right? Maybe the sweet-sour ratio was off or maybe it wasn’t cold enough.
Good lemonade comes from sour lemons. In my mind, experiencing joy is like a glass of good lemonade.
Galatians 5:22-23 says this, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."
Christians are fruit bearers not fruit producers. Sweet Jesus is the ingredient needed to make lemonade from lemons.
Sour Christians—and they do exist—are missing something…JOY. Maybe the sweet-sour ratio is off. Maybe they haven’t fully yielded the lemons to Sweet Jesus.
I can’t make joy happen, but I can allow the presence of Sweet Jesus to flow through causing joy (and other fruit of the Spirit) to permeate my existence.
Relying upon God’s strength and seeking His perspective helps me to see things and people from a sweeter vantage point.
Walk in the presence of Sweet Jesus. Make lemonade.
