Thank God I’m FORGIVEN….
It’s Friday—and Fridays always remind me of the popular song in the 70’s “Living for the Weekend” by the O’Jays.

While the thought of living for the weekend was fun then—and sometimes still is—the older I get, Friday’s have begun to take on a different meaning. And this month, it stands for “Thank God I’m FORGIVEN!”

The Bible reminds me that "all of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). That “all” includes me! Yes, I’m guilty.

I’m also grateful that it didn’t stop there. Romans 6:23 goes on to say this, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." I thank God that He has a plan for my sin problem.

I'm also relieved that it didn’t stop there. God took it a step further. John 3:16-17 says this, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." God is amazing!

I’m excited that God didn’t stop there. Colossians1:13-14 reminds me of this, “He (God) has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” I’m overwhelmed with gratefulness.

But God didn’t even stop there. I’m gratified that He went further! 2 Corinthians 5:1 proclaims this, “For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” God loves me and he has a place for me.

God, You are amazing. Thank you for loving me so much that You continue to look beyond my faults and see my need. Thank you for the avenue that leads me to redemption from my wicked ways and for an opportunity to come before You, and ask Your for forgiveness in order to remain in a loving relationship. My God is an AWESOME God!
