Obedience comes with a price.
Over and over, the Bible tells us of the consequences for obedience — blessings.
God’s instruction is designed for our protection. “Thou shall nots…” are not written for the sake of writing. God desires to keep us from harm, protect us for unneeded hassle, and to save us from things that we didn’t know we needed to be saved from.
Deuteronomy 28:2-3 reminds us of this, “And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.”
Trusting God must be followed by obedience to God. When obedience is not easy we must ask for strength, wisdom, and patience to make decision in accordance with God’s will.
Blessings are the consequences for obedience. So, let’s be more of what God has called us to be and we will experience more of what He has in store for us.
The price of obedience is always right—blessings.
