I hate waiting rooms. They’re always, cold, sterile, and boring. In my mind, the words “waiting room” depict isolation and separation, as if I’m being punished for wrong doing. If I’m honest, I hate to wait—most of us do. By nature, I’m a doing person, not a waiting person.
It’s not quite my fault—societal messages insist, “Don’t wait, you can have it now!” feeding my quick, fast, and in a hurry mentality. My brain is wired for quick gratification and frequent stimulation, not waiting.
But today, God says, “Wait.” So, I ask Him to help me see the season of wait from a different perspective.
When I think about it, waiting can be a time of preparation—time I need to pray more often, seek God more intently, and obey Him more frequently. Maybe, God is waiting on me.
Waiting can be protective. Sometimes, I’m moving too fast, walking too quickly. Waiting allows obstacles or situations to pass before I come on the scene saving me from emanate danger. Maybe, God is waiting on me.
When I allow it, waiting has the ability to build my confidence, increase my faith, and strengthen my relationship with God. Maybe, God is waiting on me.
Either way, the season of waiting is necessary to accomplish God’s perfect will. Maybe, God is waiting on me.
Wait doesn’t mean I do nothing. It requires that I actively trust God’s timing, hopefully look to God’s provision, and positively expect God’s strength. Maybe, God is waiting on me.
"Therefore, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God my salvation. My God will hear me." Micah 7:7
Thank you God, for waiting on me....... I will wait on You!
