Thoughtful & Thankful

· Food For Thought,Thankfulness

The mind is a general term for the way a person thinks, reasons, perceives, wills and feels. It has been said that a mind is a terrible thing to waste.

The Bible tells us, “as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)

In Philippians 2:5, Scripture tells us to "let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus".

As we pray to ascertain the mind of Christ and learn to think like Him, two things will happen:

  1. We will become more thoughtful of God’s Will for our lives and of others.  After all, we were created to worship our God, created to have fellowship with Him, created to enjoy a relationship with Him.
  2. We will receive thankful hearts; becoming more able to be genuinely thankful for all that God allows in our lives.

None of this can happen if our minds are not right. When we have learned to think like Christ, we will become more thoughtful of others as well.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we need to reflect on the things God gives us that we somehow seem to take for granted. Thankful for seeing a brand-new day along with the mercies that accompany it.

Instead of me listing some of God’s wonders for our enjoyment, let's take time and focus on being thankful by naming some of the things God has done.

Just to get started, how about salvation!!! “For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

Now, take it away.....It’s your turn!!!
