Time Presses Forward

September 8, 2026

Time waits for no one—time presses forward!

Nothing has reminded me of how time presses forward more than my high school reunion. 2026 represents 45 years since I graduated from THEE McDonogh 35 Sr. High School.

Seeing classmates I remembered and those I didn’t, struck a chord—time presses forward and so do I. Joyfully, the weekend of events helped me to recap goals achieved and deferred; plans considered and extinguished; and a wonderful life lived with more glorious days to come.

Philippians 3:14 says this, “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one think I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

My life is far from perfect and my actions far from noble. Yet, I continue to consider lessons learned bringing forward those fit to enhance tomorrow’s journey. Past fortunes, mistakes, and happenstances were designed to build strength, character, and fortitude—and still doing so.

Time presses forward and so do I. Filled with vigor, vitality, and victory I walk confidently into all that God has in store. Expecting greater, enjoying joys, and grateful for everything else—along with time, I too press forward.

It’s never too late to start over again. A new perspective, an onward vision, and upward goals continue to spark excitement in my life. Time doesn’t wait and neither will I.

Looking to the Author and Finisher of my faith I keep my eyes on the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Time waits for no one—time presses forward. And so should you.
