TGIF...
I love Fridays—just like much of the common world. Fridays seem to be a day for finger-sapping, toe-tapping, and grateful attitudes. That looks like joy to me.
Psalms 100 says this, “Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”
David was a creative—singer, writer, poet, and instrumentalist. Even when he was down, he knew exactly how to lift his spirits and the spirits of King Saul. As I read Psalms 100—a mere five verses—it’s apparent to me that David treated God like Fridays. He proclaimed how God makes him feel and why He was so important.
I’m not the best singer, but I love to sing. Today’s scripture reminds me to enter into God's presence with singing; to have a good attitude about life and about God; and to proclaim the wonderful things God has done.
Thank you for the joyful reminder David. When it comes to God, I will always bring a grateful Friday-like attitude. I will treat God like Fridays every day of the week.
Like David, I will thank Him for who is He is and for all that He has done each and every day!
