We Still Need The Bible

July 14, 2026

We have a two-year-old granddaughter named Quinn. She’s in her “It’s Mine” era. As soon as she sees something she wants, she picks it up declaring, “This is mine.”

Left to his own devices mankind has an “It’s Mine” mentality, prone to making up his own rules that satisfy his own desire for prominence and pleasure. We’ve got to have standards.

Some might ask, “Is the Bible still relevant today?” I vote YES!

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says this, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

The Bible was God’s idea—all of it. Even when we don’t agree, the Bible creates a standard designed to save us from ourselves. Standards create a line of demarcation that help us to know when we've gone too far left.

We still need truth. We still need guidance. We still need wisdom. We still need to recognize and admit to our own errors. We still need to be directed towards doing what’s good and right. We still need God.

In my mind, the Bible is God's Love Letters to mankind. We still need the Bible. Read The Letters.
