Most of prefer not to think of experiencing storms, floods, heat, or hardship. Truth is, this mindset is not biblical. While some preach prosperity and problem-free living, God speaks in terms of “when” not “if.”
Isaiah 43:1-3 says this “…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God..”
There are many songs and personal references that shed light on why we experience life’s storms, floods, and trials. Over the years I've heard things like, (1) if we had a problem-free life, we would not know that God is a problem solver; (2) if we never experienced bad days, we would not appreciate good days; and (3) if we never experienced trial, there would be not need to trust God.
Be however, God has promised to be with us WHEN… and through all of it. As Creator, God has established parental responsibility for us—I have called you; you are mine; I am your God. As Provider, God has promised to protect us, when…not If.
