Have you ever been in someone’s presence and realized that something they did or said changed you, helped you to see things differently—inspiring you to be better?
Some might call it coincidence. Others would say its divine intervention. Either way, Ruth had grabbed hold to a truth that would change her life and create a legacy she’d never imaged.
Ruth 1:16 initiates a lamenting prayer request from a daughter-in-law who recognized that she would be better off leaving her family and moving to a new way of life. “Entreat menot to leave you, or to turn back from following after you…”
This mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo was quite unique. Ruth—the stranger—was pleased to follow Naomi to a land and a people who were unknown to her. Most importantly, her submission introduced her to an Almighty God, who had great things in store.
The two women supported each other. They helped each other. They needed each other. They were Better Together.
Let’s break the generational divide by working together, listening, encouraging, teaching, and sharing wisdom from lessons learned.
