Cultivating Beauty

· March Gladness,Grow

During COVID, a worker entrenched herself in gardening. A recent conversation with her taught me about her favorite cultivation processesthe lasagna garden.

According to Google, lasagna gardening is a no-dig, no-till gardening method where organic materials are layered on top of the soil to create a rich, nutrient-dense growing medium. The process involves layering organic materials like cardboard, newspaper, leaves, grass clippings, and compost. Overtime microorganisms and worms break down the organic materials transforming them into nutrient-rich soil.

The thought of this concept got me to thinking about Psalm 27:14 which says, "Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!"

Gardening takes time. Nothing happens overnight. Likewise, spritual growth is a process that requires cultivation over time.

As I continue to seek God’s best, He continues to bring people and concepts into my paths that allow me to have a greater understanding of His will and His ways.

Layer by layer, prayer by prayer, scripture by scripture, day by day, month by month, experience by experience, God is at work to break down my sinful and selfish nature to transform me into a spiritually and nutrient-rich individual.

Through the layering of experiences, circumstances, and situations, I will continue to wait and be of good courage. Knowing that God always works through the eyes of purpose, I will look to Him to strengthen me like only He can.

God is cultivating beauty. Bless His Holy Name!
