Seeds of Christmas Past:
Jesus paid the price to release us from the penalty of sin and death. Living as captives to sin, we cannot free ourselves. God's plan includes a solution for our sin problem. Jesus is the reason for Christmas season.
The Prophesy:
Isaiah 59:20
And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, said the LORD.
The Prophesy Fulfilled: Galatians 4:3-5
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent for his Son, made of a woman, made under the law to redeem them that were under the law, the we might receive the adoption of sons
- Bondage is the state of being restrained or held captive
- Redeemer is one who frees another from captivity by paying a price
- Transgression is the violation of laws or commands (sin)
- Sin separates us from God
When it comes to sin, salvation, and God's plan for eternal life, Jesus Christ is the one who recues us from eternal damation. Jesus is our Redeemer.
