Faith Talk

Increasing Faith

Affirm the positive. We’re in a time where people are paying more attention to what enters their thought-space. Millennials are talking more about our need for positive affirmation—I love that.

It’s true, the mind is an amazing instrument and it believes what we tell it.

In this week's lesson the woman with the issue of blood stated a fact about the power of Jesus Christ. Mark 5:28 records this, For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

Her positive affirmation went a step further—Faith Talk.

She believed so much in the power of Jesus Christ, that she convinced herself a simple and menial touch of His garment would heal her body of its deteriorating condition. She was right.

We should Faith Talk more by proclaiming the promises of God aloud. I don't quite understand why, but there's something about the spoken word that gives power to our existence.

Last week, we reviewed the Message Bible’s version of Hebrews 11:1 The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.

This week we encourage you to Talk That Talk—Faith Talk, like the woman with the issue of blood. Her ability to take what she believed, turn it into verbal language, and speak it to herself, motivated her to act accordingly.

Talk That Talk—Faith Talk
