Loss is difficult to envision, explain or express.
Loss is challenging to comprehend, conceive or contemplate.
While many might say “I know how you feel.” Truth is, they can’t, don’t, and won’t.
Regardless of one’s personal experience, at best it compares to another in only the vaguest terms.
Often times, prayers not granted or a null response to exhausting requests causes discouragement to set in lingering deep and wide.
Seek God’s Perspective.
Death and loss are a part of life. People and things fade away ushering a gradual replenishment of life as we've known it. With that replacement, we must hold tight to the relevance of the past seeking to retain insight, inspiration, and lessons learned from the existence of people and things once held dear.
Revelations 9:10 reminds us of this
…Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come…
From start to finish, the life of Jesus Christ is filled with proclamations of man’s inability to save himself and the need for an advocate. Our loss is another opportunity to seek strength and power that we don’t have and can’t possess in and of ourselves.
“Lord, have mercy!” is a prayer request. This simple plea can be the first step towards gaining the strength needed to move forward, allowing the loss and the pain it brings to shape and mold us into a person of depth, sincerity, and sensitivity.
Salvation, Strength, and Power are here!
