Happy Mother's Day

My Salute to Young Mothers…..

Every Mother’s Day, I pay homage to my mother, grandmother, and sisters. While my heart will always be with those who've paved the way for providing me with wonderful memories and examples, today I’d like to take a minute to salute young mothers.

At the top of my list are my daughters…. Nicole McGee Bolden, Candace Bolden George, and Breanna Bolden. You three, are AMAZING!

I'm blessed to have six incredible grandchildren: (Caleb [6];Creux [5]; Creuz [5]; Christopher [4]; Quinn [15 months]; and Kario [3months]). They bring so much joy! But even more exciting than watching them, is experiencing how much time and intention my daughters take in caring for their babies—my babies. It warms my heart. These young mothers make motherhood look good. I’m so proud of the life they're making for my grandchildren.

To all young mothers….

Instructions don’t come along with the prenatal experience. We all need help and support. Jobs, family, friends, hobbies, and outside influences can easily create challenges that compete with mothering today’s children. Be sure to make choices that encourage and expand the horizons of your children.

No one is exempt from tough times. Always seek God’s perspective and walk in His ways. When your children see you in prayer and worship, they learn how to love and trust God.

Life may never seem perfect and that’s ok. You weren’t created to be perfect—you were created to be "you". So, stop comparing yourselves to people you don’t know and walk in your God-given purpose.

May God bless you with the wisdom, understanding, and intuition needed to nurture and provide engaging spaces for your children to grow and succeed.

Motherhood is a blessing. You have a unique opportunity to pour into the minds of tomorrow's leaders. Be kind. Be patient. Be positive. Be the mother you wish you had.

Happy Mother’s Day!
