Have you ever played the blindfold game?
It’s where someone completely covers your eyes and from afar they give you directions that you must follow to get from one location to another. I'll admit it's kind of scary. While trying to listen, you're hoping and praying that the person isn’t going to lead you smack into a wall or direct you to stumble over a chair.
Faith works a lot like that game. We should be grateful that God is different from people. He always has our best interest in mind and He will always lead us in the right direction without making a mistake.
When we exercise trust in God we believe His words are true and we put our confidence in Him. Trust leads us to follow God’s direction and walk in His ways even though we feel scared or have the urge to rely upon our own devices.
Proverbs, 16:20 reminds us of this, "He who heeds the word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he."
Google defines the word heed like this, to pay attention to; take notice of.
Truth is…
That’s exactly what God wants us to do with His word—pay attention, take notice and most importantly, follow the directions.
Truth is…
We may not always agree with it and we may not always like it. But God has promised that whoever applies His words to their life will find good.
Trusting God doesn’t mean we will understand everything. It means just the opposite—we must follow God when we don’t understand, can’t see, and don’t havea clue about what He is doing.
That's the TRUTH about Trust!
