The woman in today’s story had a lot of sins—not just private sins—everybody knew. She was a prostitute. How dare, she enter into Jesus’ presence!
Luke 7:37 records this, “And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil…”
I love the fact that when she knew Jesus had been invited to dinner, she went too. She had the audacity to just show up uninvited and unexpected.
I love the fact that she wasn’t afraid or if she was afraid, her fear didn’t stop her. Some attendees may have even been former clients, but she was not intimidated.
I love the fact that she came prepared with something in mind. Her perspective had sifted and she was ready to let everyone know about her new found loyalty.
Sins are not inherent to certain type of people. We all have them. Some private, some known by a few, and some are in full view for the world to see.
Something happened to this woman. Something changed. She showed up and she showed up different.
No doubt, she'd heard Jesus’ teachings and made a decision to follow Him. She was a new person and her actions proved it.
Regardless to what you’ve done, regardless to where you’ve been, I dare you to listen to the Word of God and show up different. I Double “D” Dare You!
I Dare You to read Luke 7:36-49 to learn more about this story.
And I Double "D" Dare you to read God's Pan For Your Salvation.
