National Day for Prayer for Mental Illness Recovery and Understanding

Prayer is always appropriate. Our understanding of mental illness may be limited, but we can't use lack of knowledge as a reason to ignore the reality. We must become more knowledgeable about the signs of mental illness, create a supportive environment to discuss these medical conditions, learn more about available resources, and pray.

Be proactive in understanding more about the various conditions that may affect you, your loved ones, and your friends. Learn how to be supportive.

These are only a few of the reasons why it’s important to take part in promoting awareness for MIAW. Please use these facts and others, including the infographics at nami.org/mhstats, to encourage discussions about mental health through social media or other forms of outreach.
