Raw Truth

· Every Word Counts

Recently, I was asked to complete a survey following an overwhelming experience. My first thought was, “The nerve of them—asking me to complete this survey after that bomshell.”

A friend suggested a message from her mother, “If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything at all”. But in my mind, there are times when the raw, hard truth requires mention.

Then, I thought, “They asked for my feedback—Should I respond? And if so, what should I say?”

Psalms 37:30 says this, “The mouth of the righteous proclaims wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice and truth.”

It’s tough to know what to say when. We must be sure that our truth is objective, not simply our criticism, and includes opportunity for improvement.

Every Word Counts: Sometimes, raw truth is exactly what’s needed. Delivery is extremely important. Raw truth requires thoughtfulness, prayer, wisdom, and God’s timing.
