Sometimes, I talk too much. Sometimes, I say way more than needs to be said. Sometimes, I speak too quickly. I need to slow my roll.

James 1:19 reminds me of this, “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath”.

I don’t always have to have the last word. I don’t always have to give others a piece of my mind. I don’t always have to say everything I think.

Today’s verse is a reminder that I have two ears and one mouth for a very good reason. Today, I ask God to help me take control of my mind and my tongue. Help me to walk in wisdom by becoming more sensitive in regards to what needs to be said and when.

Since I'm not the only one with this problem, I pray the same prayer for you too. (Now, did that part need to be said? Well, God is still at work in me.)
