Day 1:

Grace and Mercy

· Food For Thought

Birds of a feather flock together…

Grace and Mercy are another example of an inspirational pair ordained by God. Amazing and beautiful, they go hand in hand.

It's said that grace is God’s unmerited favor—meaning that our lawless actions don’t deserve God’s goodness, but He gives it to us anyway and inspite of.

Slightly different, mercy is God not giving us what we really deserve for our wrong doing.

Both are amazing and beautiful gifts from God and His acts of love toward us when we don't measure up to His standard.

Hebrews 4:15 reminds us of this, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

God loves us so much that He continues to pursue us (always giving us another chance to be recipients of His grace and mercy), reminding us of His great sacrifice in giving His Son Jesus Christ in order to reunite us back to Him.

The Bible encourages us to seek God while He can be found. When we look to God, His grace (favor) is always available.

As we ask for His forgiveness, He has promised not to hold our previous sins against us. He is always willing to cancel our debt (that's mercy) not giving us what we deserve.

Grace and Mercy are amazingly beautiful birds of the same feather. Seek God’s perspective, walk in His ways, and experience both.
